You misunderstand. I have full control of my account now; 5 years ago when I was a minor I did not.
The issue is not that my Apple ID has been compromised, it's that I have a tech-confused mother who somehow set up a username on my account.
I need an answer to my original question: How to I change my username for this forum?
You don't. Only the hosts can do that, and John has taken the step you cannot take and that is to notify the hosts. I will also notify them and they will get in touch with you.

Thanks for the explanation. If your only concern is that you would like a new username for this particular site (Apple Support Communities) then I'm assuming ChrisJ4203 asked this site's Hosts to intervene. Only they can do that, but I believe they will change your chosen ASC name only under very limited circumstances.
I don't know if they will get in touch with you or not, but since this particular Discussion is marked "solved" I suggest you start another one with that particular request.
As long as you are satisfied with your existing Apple ID, then don't change anything about it. Your account wasn't "hacked", it's just that your Mom was trying to be overly helpful. They tend to be that way.
Checking back on your account here, it seems this username was created October 13, 2011, and this was the question asked then. Why isn't my iTunes download working? Maybe your mother created this using the Apple ID you had at that time.
